In this message, the Sovereign said he received with great emotion and deep sorrow the sad news of the passing of the great artist Khadija Assad, may God have her in his holy mercy.

"In this painful circumstance, we express to you, and through you, to all her family and friends, to the national artistic family of the deceased and to all her friends and admirers, our heartfelt condolences and our sincere feelings of sympathy following the death of one of the icons of the Moroccan screen, known for her immense talent and her performance in several major theatrical, television and film works, particularly those made in the company of her husband and traveling companion, the late Abdelaziz Saadallah, and which have marked the local artistic scene and have remained engraved in the memory and heart of the Moroccan public," HM the King wrote.

The Sovereign implores God to generously reward the deceased for her praiseworthy services to art and the homeland, to surround her with his holy mercy, to welcome her in his vast paradise and to grant her family patience and consolation.
